Rear Brake Pad Replacement Service
In the brake pad replacement service, the rear wheels of the brake pads are removed and replaced with fresh brake pads. At Berglund Toyota, we only use genuine OEM (original equipment manufacturer) brake parts for replacement service including brake pads. The speed at which brake pads wear can be different for the front and rear brake pads, therefore we recommend inspection service for the front and the rear brake pads. Compared to other components of the brake system, the brake pads tend to wear faster as they are designed to provide a friction-generating surface to the brake rotors.
Signs of Worn-Out Brake Pads
Squealing noise when pressing the brake pedal is a common sign of worn-out brake pads. If brake pads are at fault, the noise should only come when you engage the brake pedal. If the brake pedal is spongy, stiff, or vibrating, those are common signs of worn-out brake pads. Sluggish braking performance is another sign. This means that the vehicle is taking longer to stop or there is a delay in response from the brakes. As the driver of the vehicle, you might be able to determine if the brakes have gone sluggish, but we recommend inspection by a trained and certified technician for a more accurate and reliable checkup.
