2022 Toyota RAV4 vs. 2022 Nissan Rogue

Compact SUVs are a big favorite of young families and people who live an active lifestyle. This vehicle type has a tall, confident stance and offers the best mix of performance, versatility, smart amenities, and roominess.

Modern models have a more fuel-efficient powertrain, which allows the automobile to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The result is more savings for the owner and a lesser impact on the environment.

While one of the most popular nameplates right now is the 2022 Toyota RAV4, the compact SUV segment is full of many other great models that deserve a buyer's consideration. One such model is the 2022 Nissan Rogue.

As both these models offer quite a number of amenities, we here at Berglund Toyota deemed it best to compare the two to give you an idea of what you're getting for the amount you're paying for.

Interior Comparison

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 comes with a slightly smaller 7-inch touch-screen display compared to the Rogue's 8-inch monitor. However, it makes up for it with a six-speaker system, which is a couple more than what the competition has.

Both models come with Bluetooth® connectivity, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™. The RAV4 gets an edge, though, as it also offers Amazon Alexa and an advanced voice recognition system.

The front seats in each of the models are the same, six-way adjustable for the driver and four-way adjustable for the passenger, and the rear seats split-fold 60/40. You'll get extra cargo space behind the second and third-row in the RAV4.

Cruise control is standard on the RAV4 and Rogue, but Toyota enhances the RAV4 with distance pacing with traffic stop-go. It uses radar to adjust the vehicle's speed to maintain a preset distance from the vehicle in front.

Performance Comparison

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 and the Rogue use a similar-sized 2.5L direct-injection gasoline engine. However, they are vastly different when it comes to the amount of power they generate.

Moving the RAV4's front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission is 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, while the Rogue's front wheels only get 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque.

That's a significant disparity in power output that clearly favors the RAV4. This allows the Toyota to carry more load, tow equipment (comes with Trailer Sway Control feature), and deliver better acceleration and performance every time. It also comes with a brake-actuated limited-slip differential.

Both models have the same fuel consumption in city, highway, and combined driving conditions.

Safety Features Comparison

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 has a more comprehensive set of safety features compared to the Rogue.

Aside from the full complement of air bags that are standard on both models along with side impact beams, lane departure warning, collision mitigation, and reverse camera, the RAV4 also comes with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. It's a suite of advanced driver-assist systems to enhance passenger protection.

Additional exclusive safety features include the Safety Connect Tracker System and cruise control steering assist.
