Performance Comparison

The Toyota Corolla offers two engine variations: a 139-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that is found in the L, LE, and XLE trims, and a 169-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that is found in the SE and XSE trims. Both come standard with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. 

The Civic is powered by a standard four-cylinder 158-horsepower engine. You can opt for an optional 180-horsepower turbocharged engine. A continuously variable automatic transmission is standard throughout the lineup.
