2012 TOYOTA YARIS PERFORMANCE & HANDLING
Also dubbed the Yaris Liftback in honor of its rear liftback door, the 2012 Toyota Yaris comes in both 3-Door and 5-Door designs, each featuring L and LE trims and an SE trim found exclusively with the 5-Door build. All models come equipped with a standard 1.5-Liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-Valve engine, which features Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and produces 106 horsepower with 103 pound-feet of torque. Both the 3-Door L and 5-Door SE models come with a 5-speed manual transmission standard. Both of these models have the option to upgrade to a 4-speed Electronically Controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), which comes standard on every other trim.
L and LE trims of each design feature an Independent MacPherson strut front suspension with stabilizer bar, a torsion beam rear suspension, Electric Power Steering (EPS), power-assisted rack-and-pinion, power-assisted ventilated front disc brakes, rear drum brakes and the Star Safety System. The premium 5-Door SE model offers upgrades to these features with a Sport-tuned independent MacPherson strut front suspension with stabilizer bar, Sport-calibrated Electric Power Steering (EPS), power-assisted rack-and-pinion, power-assisted ventilated front disc brakes and rear disc brakes.
The 2012 Toyota Yaris also features the Ultra Low Emission Vehicle II (ULEV-II) rating and noteworthy fuel economy, with manual builds offering 30/city, 38/highway, 33/combined mpg and automatic models following with 30/city, 35/highway, 32/combined mpg. |

2012 TOYOTA YARIS STANDARD FEATURES & OPTIONS
The 2012 Toyota Yaris has everything you need to enjoy the ride. It comes standard with an AM/FM CD player, an auxiliary audio jack and a USB port with iPod connectivity. LE and SE trims offer an upgraded system that is SiriusXM Satellite Radio compatible and features HD Radio, an iPod interface, music streaming via Bluetooth wireless technology and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
All trims offer standard power door locks with illuminated entry, a center console with storage, a 12V auxiliary power outlet, front map lamps, four front and two rear cup/bottle holders, a cargo area lamp, and remote hood and fuel-filler releases. LE and SE trims step it up with 60/40 split fold-down rear seats, cruise control (optional with LE, standard with SE), steering wheel-mounted audio controls, metallic interior trim and door handles, remote keyless entry system and power windows.
The premium SE trim offers even more exclusive upgrades, including integrated fog lamps, exterior and interior design upgrades, larger 16-inch alloy wheels and sport analog instrumentation. |
